Gabrielle Union was less than impressed with the statement issued by NBC and “America’s Got Talent” producers in response to racism and sexism allegations. The former “AGT” judge took to Twitter to school The Peacock and Freemantle in how to make a proper apology and mockingly scolded them to take a note.

She retweeted this message, “A solid apology comes in three parts. 1. Sincerely admit wrong doing directly to the offended party. 2. Be twice as loud correcting your mistake as you were making the mistake. 3. Lay out steps to correct your behavior in the future. Anything less is covering your own a**.” Along with it was a meme of Oprah Winfrey saying, “I will not accept that.”

In their joint statement, NBC and Simon Cowell‘s production company Syco denied the race and gender discrimination accusations that swirled on the internet following Gabrielle’s exit. They additionally insisted that the “Think Like a Man” actress was let go from the show because they’re just rotating a judge out to keep the talent show fresh.

“America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show,” they claimed. “The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT’s enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously.”

They said they would be working with Gabrielle’s camp to resolve any issues that she thought might be concerning, “We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture. We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate.”
